Swedish Meatballs and Stinky Lutefisk!
Mark your calendar for Saturday, October 24th when we host our annual fundraiser – the Swedish Meatball and Lutefisk dinner.
Plans are underway for the many tasks that go into making this such a fun annual affair. The lefse makers have been put on notice, the lutefisk is on order, we’ve hunted down the herring, potatoes have been sourced, the kitchen crew is being recruited, publicity is scheduled and bake sale recipes are being scrutinized.
Zion has been a little church with a big heart situated in the middle of an urban neighborhood for many years. In fact, we’re soon to celebrate our 125th anniversary! We have used this annual event as a quiet fundraiser for many years but this year we intend to make a little noise. We want to give parishioners and friends of Zion the opportunity to become our partners in the many things we do around here.
You can support us by buying tickets to the dinner (bring a friend!), by stopping at the Bake Sale table (there will be lefse and much more!) or by purchasing one of the quilts the Zion Quilters will have on display (they make great gifts!). Plus – this year we have created a new concept called Zion’s Ministry Auction. Look for the display of brightly wrapped boxes – the crew will be happy to explain what we’re up to (think fundraiser!).
